Plan ahead

Planning your trip to Hong Kong is not an easy task since the city offers a plethora of sightseeing options and it will be a real challenge to work them all in! Therefore, it is always better to plan your journey by listing down the top places you want to visit and things you like to do. Your priorities should come first. Always make sure that you select a mix of historical and cultural attractions such as the Tian Tann Buddha, Ocean Park and the Po Lin Monastery. After you have picked where you want to travel, look up for opening times and closing days of those attractions. You will have plenty of public transport facilities and getting around HK by bus or train is relatively easy.

Take the rails

Getting around Honk Kong is efficient and quick with its Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system. It covers most of the main districts including shops at the Lok Ma Chau Station and the boundary with Mainland China, Lo Wu Station. A light rail system is also being operated by MTR for trains running between Tuen Mun in the New Territories and Yuen Long. Getting from Shenzhen to Hong Kong by a 'bullet train' or a speed train has become a popular choice among tourists for its time effectiveness. This travelling experience will be an unforgettable one for its unbeatable comforts. It is recommended to book your tickets ahead of time to avoid the last-minute hassle. Once you reach the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, you will find plenty of accommodation options such as Cosmo Hotel Wan Chai Hong Kong providing easy access to main shopping hubs, banking services and hustling city centres.

Buses and minibuses

Buses are in abundance in Hong Kong and they are comfortable. Double-deckers are popular among tourists as they offer great views of the city from the top deck. This will be a fantastic experience for vloggers to create their videos. There are a few bus services in Hong Kong including Long Win Bus, New Lantao Bus, New World First Bus, Citybus and Kowloon Motor Bus. Bus routes cover almost every nook and corner of the New Territories, Hong Kong and Kowloon. The app called 'Citymapper' will help you to keep track of the nearest bus stop, fare cost, route planning, bus routes and bus arrival time. As implied from its name, Minibuses are small buses that carry up to 19 people at a time. These buses have fixed prices and are operated on specific routes. If you are paying by cash, it can be paid upon boarding based on the total distance you have travelled. The buses are all comfortable, clean and modern but they do get busy during peak hours from 9 am to 5 pm.

Add your locations to Google Maps

It is better to include all the locations that you are planning to visit Google Maps. You just have to click 'My Places' in the app to create a map of your itinerary. Give it a name and add all the locations that you are planning to visit in Hong Kong. Keep in mind: your priorities should come first, and all the other places must be placed under a 'maybe' list. You don't want to exert extra time to find stations; Google Maps does it on its own!
